Biographical Sketch

Shubham is a System Architect with over eight years of experience, currently working in the CPIT Platform Center of Excellence team at SAP. He specializes in designing and developing complex distributed systems, leveraging a strong foundation in computer science and advanced programming.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg, and a Master of Technology in Software Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. As part of his academic journey, he also completed a three-month fellowship in Germany at SAP SE, where he contributed to the development and deployment of large-scale production software systems.

Over the course of his career at SAP, Shubham has taken on diverse roles in backend development, DevOps, SRE, and technical consultancy. In his current role, he is responsible for defining governance policies and architecture for SAP’s CPIT landscape, ensuring compliance through rigorous security evaluations of new applications. He also leads developer enablement initiatives across globally distributed CPIT teams by organizing and conducting bootcamps that promote secure and compliant software development practices.

Shubham’s expertise extends to cross-team collaboration, large-scale project execution, and aligning complex initiatives within defined timelines. His research interests include Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing, Scalability, High-Performance Computing, Software Testing, and Formal Verification. He has published research on digital evaluation systems, developed proprietary tools for SAP, and contributes actively to open-source communities.

Beyond his professional work, Shubham is passionate about mentorship and collaborative innovation. He has supervised four M.Tech students during their final semester dissertations and is currently guiding one student in the same capacity. Outside of work, he enjoys performing and interpreting classical piano pieces and competes in Valorant at a competitive level, and continually seeks opportunities to grow both as a researcher and as an engineer.
